Will Robots Take Our Jobs and Wipe Us Out?

Last week, the United Nations organized the "AI for Good Global Summit" in Geneva, Switzerland. The highlight of the event was a press conference where a few humanoid robots, including Sophia, Grace, Desdemona, Ameca, and several geminoid-robots (robots developed to resemble their creators), were asked questions by journalists.

Robots in the Hot Seat

During the press conference, the robots were asked if they believed that they would take jobs away from humans and if they could potentially pose a threat to humanity. However, it was not clear how much of the robots’ responses were pre-programmed or came from the built-in artificial intelligence some of the robots have.

The Verdict

In the end, the jury’s still out on whether robots will be the next big thing or the next big threat. But one thing’s for sure, they sure know how to handle a press conference!
