Toronto Zoo: Gorillas Need Less Screen Time

Toronto Zoo: "Gorillas Need Less Screen Time"

Image

Toronto Zoo has recently announced that they would prefer if visitors stopped showing clips to their gorillas. Visitors at the zoo come very close to the gorillas, and being the intelligent creatures that they are, the gorillas naturally take an interest in the clips. One gorilla in particular, named Nassir, is especially fond of the clips, and if he had his way, he’d probably be scrolling through TikTok all day.

Gorillas and Screen Time

The zoo has explained that they show nature films to their gorillas, and that this in itself is not harmful, albeit not natural, for the gorillas to see things on a screen. However, they would like to have control over what the gorillas potentially see and are therefore asking visitors to stop showing clips.

In Conclusion

So next time you’re at Toronto Zoo and are tempted to show a funny cat video to a gorilla, remember: not only do they probably have better taste in content than you, but they also need less screen time. Because even in the animal kingdom, no one likes a screen addict.
