San Diego Comic-Con 2023: A Geek’s Paradise or a Cosplayer’s Nightmare?
Well, folks, it’s that time of year again. The time when the city of San Diego becomes a mecca for all things geeky, nerdy, and just plain weird. Yes, I’m talking about the San Diego Comic-Con 2023.
Exhibition Floor: A Sea of Spandex and Sweat
The exhibition floor was, as always, a sight to behold. A sea of spandex-clad superheroes, anime characters, and the occasional confused parent wondering how they ended up in this alternate universe.
Marvel and DC were, of course, the big hitters. Their booths were like the popular kids at school – everyone wanted to be near them, but only a select few got the chance.
Highlights from the Exhibition Floor
1. Star Wars booth: The force was strong with this one. Complete with a life-size Millennium Falcon and a Chewbacca that was a little too realistic.
2. Game of Thrones booth: Winter came and went, but the fans are still here. The Iron Throne was a hot spot for selfies, and the White Walker cosplayers were giving everyone the chills.
3. Harry Potter booth: The magic was alive and well at the Harry Potter booth. The Sorting Hat was there, and let’s just say, there were a lot of disappointed Hufflepuffs.
4. Marvel booth: The Marvel booth was a superhero’s dream come true. From Thor’s hammer to Iron Man’s suit, it was all there. And yes, there were plenty of people trying to lift the hammer. Spoiler alert: they couldn’t.
5. DC booth: The DC booth was a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, you had the iconic Batmobile. On the other hand, you had the Joker’s disturbing grin staring at you from every corner.
The Cosplay: A Sight for Sore Eyes
The cosplay was, as always, a highlight of the event. From the incredibly detailed to the hilariously bad, it was a sight to behold. There was a guy dressed as Spider-Man who looked like he’d eaten one too many donuts. And a woman dressed as Wonder Woman who could probably bench press me.
