Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Ventures into Musical Territory
Just when you thought the Star Trek universe couldn’t get any stranger, it boldly goes where no Star Trek series has gone before. Yes, folks, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is venturing into musical territory. Because nothing says “space exploration” quite like a catchy show tune, right?
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m all for a good musical episode. Buffy the Vampire Slayer did it. Scrubs did it. Even Grey’s Anatomy did it. But Star Trek? I’m not sure I’m ready to see Captain Pike belting out a ballad about the final frontier.
Star Trek: The Musical Odyssey
According to sources, the musical episode will feature original songs written specifically for the show. I can only imagine the lyrical genius we’re in for. “Oh, the Klingons are a fright, but we’ll fight them with all our might…”
“Beam me up, Scotty, there’s no intelligent life down here…”
And let’s not forget the inevitable dance numbers. I’m sure the choreography will be out of this world. (See what I did there?)
Reactions from the Star Trek Fandom
As you can imagine, the reactions from the Star Trek fandom have been… mixed. Some are excited about the prospect of a musical episode. Others, not so much.
“I’d rather be assimilated by the Borg than watch a Star Trek musical,” one fan tweeted.
But hey, who knows? Maybe it’ll be a hit. After all, stranger things have happened. (No, not that Stranger Things. Although a musical episode of that show would be pretty interesting…)
Wrapping Up
So there you have it. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is boldly going into musical territory. Whether it’ll be a hit or a miss, only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be one heck of a ride.
“Star Trekkin’ across the universe, on the Starship Enterprise under Captain Kirk. Star Trekkin’ across the universe, boldly going forward ’cause we can’t find reverse.”
