San Diego Comic-Con 2023: The Winners, The Losers, and The Utterly Confused
Well, folks, another year, another San Diego Comic-Con. And as always, there were winners, losers, and those who still can’t figure out why they spent four days dressed as a Wookie. But hey, who are we to judge? Let’s dive into the highlights and lowlights of this year’s event.
The Winners
First up, the winners. And no, we’re not talking about the guy who managed to snag the last limited-edition Funko Pop. We’re talking about the real winners here.
Marvel Studios once again stole the show with their surprise announcements. They revealed that they’ve somehow convinced Robert Downey Jr. to return as Iron Man in a new series. We’re not sure what kind of sorcery they used, but we’re all for it.
Another big winner was DC Comics. They finally managed to create a movie that didn’t make us want to gouge our eyes out. Their new Batman film was a hit, and we’re all eagerly awaiting the sequel, “Batman: Still Not Affleck”.
The Losers
Now, onto the losers. And boy, were there some doozies this year.
First up, Star Wars. They tried to hype up their new series, “The Mandalorian: The College Years”, but let’s be honest, nobody asked for this. We love Baby Yoda as much as the next person, but we don’t need to see him going through puberty.
Another big loser was Netflix. They tried to promote their new series, “Stranger Things: The Retirement Home”, but it just didn’t hit the mark. We love the original cast, but we don’t need to see them fighting off Demogorgons with their walkers.
The Utterly Confused
And finally, the utterly confused. These are the people who showed up to Comic-Con thinking it was a job fair. To those people, we say, better luck next year. And maybe try reading the event description next time.
So there you have it, folks. The winners, the losers, and the utterly confused of San Diego Comic-Con 2023. We can’t wait to see what next year brings. Until then, keep on cosplaying.
“Comic-Con, where the geeks roam,
Marvel and DC, they call it home,
Winners and losers, in costumes they dress,
Till next year, folks, God bless.”
